Team Straight Flush Updates from WSOP

Team Straight Flush – Chris Belflower and “Vegas Baby” promotion qualifier Chris Gale played in WSOP Event #44.  This was a $1K No-Limit Hold ’em buy-in event.

Both players survived to the first break, but appear to have busted out late in level 3 or early in level 4.  Belflower moved up to $3850 in chips, from a starting stack of $3000, only to drop down to $1500.  However, he rebuilt the stack to 2900 by break.
Then, with A/K, Belflower became the first casualty when he got all of his chips into the middle following a flop of A/K/J.   His opponent, though, held pocket Js.  He couldn’t improve and went out.  We don’t have the details on Chris Gale’s bust out – but know he hit the rail just a few hands after Belflower did.
Belflower moved into one of the WSOP Deepstack events after busting out and appeared to be chipping up quite well when he 3-bet his 8s preflop only to have the tourney chip leader shove in.  Belflower called, was up against “rockets” and busted out.
Gale and Belflower have continued to play Vegas including $1/$2 No-limit cash games and other tourneys spending time at Planet Hollywood, The Stratosphere and other locations.
