From what we have gathered – we are the first to be promoting the newly released Fall Poker Classic this October at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN. While the dates have been long known (October 1 to the October 15th Main Event) we hadn’t known the events or times. Canterbury has now put the schedule up on their site, but even they haven’t yet published any press release promoting – you’re getting the info here first!!
This year’s Fall Poker Classic looks to be the best that they have ever had – and that’s not just post “Black Friday” and “Midnight Blue Friday” talk. This year’s event boasts an expanded schedule of 29 events – including several Super Satellite events for the Main Event (up from 2010’s 18 events plus the Battle of Generations tourneys). There look to be 2 tournaments a day (noon and 6:30 pm) from 10/01 through 10/14 – with the $1100 Main Event kicking off on 10/15. The offerings cover something for most budgets. There are numerous $120 buy-ins offered, some $175, the standard $230, and some $340 and $550 ones as you wind your way to the Main Event buy-in.
Gone this year is the fairly poorly attended “Generations” tournament and the Limit Hold ‘em tourney (also one of the more poorly attended events). In its place are 2 – yes two – Omaha Hi-Lo (8 or better) tournaments. Karaoke Phil is in heaven. There are also now two Mix Limit OH8/Hold ‘em offerings.
Back again are the standards: Senior’s Event (10/02) and Ladies Event (10/03) along with 7 Card Stud, a 6-Handed No Limit Hold ‘em and a host of regular No Limit Hold ‘em. The CPL Poker Podcast will see you at this year’s Fall Poker Classic. You can see the full schedule here.
UPDATE: 5:15 pm, 07/29/11 – we beat Canterbury’s own press release on this by 3.5 hours – another CPL SCOOOOOOP!!
