Judge Gearin is expected to rule on the appeals from Canterbury Park and Running Aces sometime tomorrow (Wednesday, July 13), deciding whether they will be allowed to open back up during the MN State Shutdown.
On positive news – Running Aces is taking the opportunity to update, and dare we hope, revamp their website. As we had previously posted, their site was “down” and listed a generic server placeholder message. Running Aces has finally posted a homepage message that notes they are undergoing maintenance and directing people to their Facebook page. A run through there found a post about the new site coming up on Monday (yesterday) – that didn’t happen.
If you have the time and inclination – Canterbury Park (I still sometimes call it Canterbury Downs) is holding a press conference and rally at 1:30 pm. They are asking people to arrive no later than 1:15 pm and to enter through the Canterbury Park Pavilion/Tent Entrance. They will be discussing the impacts that the closing of Canterbury has had on employees, horsemen, and the community along with rallying for a re-open and in favor of passing the Racino legislation.
