Friend of the CPL Poker Podcast and 2010 WSOP Main Event final tabler – Jason Senti – went heads up against Rob WazWaz in this year’s Minnesota State Poker Championship.
Canterbury Park hosts this event and 155 players ponied up the $1100 entry fee. That meant that 20 players would cash. Rob WazWaz, hailing from Brooklyn Park, was chip leader going into the final table. Senti was 6th in stack size of the final ten but only a few thousands chips shy of 5th -middle of the pack.
Senti survived an all-in against WazWaz with 9 players left when he shoved with A/8 only to be called by Rob’s A/K – Senti sucked out to double up. That was enough to let Senti keep on riding the wave. However, WazWaz had a 3 to 1 lead over Jason once heads up.
According to MN Poker Mag – Senti limped with A/6 – and snapped called the all in raise. But, WazWaz had woken up with Aces and took down the first place prize of about $39K. The win for Rob WazWaz comes off a 4th place finish in the main event of last October’s Fall Poker Classic.
