This was an odd Hand of the Week. Typically I agree more with Phil than Mark on hand analysis, but this time Mark is 100% in line with my thinking. Even though you both came to the same end result, I think you give up too much equity by calling down and giving up fold equity.

How I would play it: once he re-raises the flop - and given our remaining stack size - I would either fold or go all-in. If I call his re-raise (because I think I'm ahead), there's no card that going to come on the turn to change my mind (well, maybe an A). With a pot of 1550 on the turn, only 875 left, and a card that hasn't changed my "ahead" assessment, I'm not leaving the hand.

Since I'm about to call it down at that point, I might as well grab the fold equity and put it all-in on the flop and increase my overall chances of winning.

On the other hand, I do recognize that re-raising all in can't fold out any better hands. When you can't do that and there are no draws to be afraid of, then maybe a raise is not optimal.

Mark's analysis was decidedly better than median here!

I noted on our Facebook page that Mark had some "top notch analysis" for the hand of the week.

In retrospect - I believe you are both correct - the shove on the flop is a better play. It was that "Ace" coming that had me contemplating - but, that's another argument for 4 bet shove on the flop, get him to fold it.

Good point of the Cada Challenge - you know, we never did actually post about that's all about. We should maybe do that....
